CASATEVA FOUNDATION - Setup
On June 12th, 2008, the Casateva Foundation –a hotel for pediatric patients- was legally constituted in the presence of notary public of Barcelona Mr. Antonio Rosellón Mestre.
The Jubert Figueras Foundation, represented by the president of the Patrons’ Committee, is one of its founding patrons.
During the last year the FJF has actively taken part in the creation of a new entity: the Casateva Foundation –a hotel for pediatric patients. This is a project led by four hospital centers in Barcelona, with the support of a number of foundations and associations meant to help patients and their relatives.
It stems from the necessity to provide the city of Barcelona with living facilities for children outpatients coming from out of town, and for their families. It also intends to alleviate the severe lack of such services in our city, despite the steady increase of organizations offering lodging.
The Casateva Foundation counts on the support of more than 40 social entities, which have joined the project by signing a declaration for the creation of these facilities.
There is much work left to do, but Barcelona’s City Council has already engaged itself to give a large parcel of land, very well-connected to the pediatric hospitals in town.
